I think that is a TERRIFIC idea! The more we can get the kids outdoors the better. And I agree that we shouldn’t fear going out in the rain, as there’s much to be learned and appreciated during a safe storm as well. some of my children’s fondest memories are when we encouraged them to play in a downpour and cover themselves in mud!!!

I just found your blog and I’m looking into the program for my preschool. I was wondering if I would need to buy the animal flashcards (they are $55.00) or if I could make my own if I bought the zoo fonts CD that you mentioned. Thank you!

Sounds like a great idea to me. Really helps on the cleanup too! Kids love nature and to touch all those leaves and dirt, so why not. I don’t know about keeping them outside in subfreezing temperatures, however. Or maybe our kids are just too spoiled anymore.

Hi Kathy,
I highly advise purchasing my “top three favorites” as listed above. However, any additional books and games you wish to buy to personalize it to your students would certainly not hurt, but are not required for a successful year with Zoo-phonics.
